Anup Soni says Shah Rukh Khan’s Mohabbatein look was his reference for Remix: ‘I wore the same glasses’

Anup Soni, who is known for his work in shows like Crime Patrol and Balika Vadhu, recently shared that he enjoyed his experience of working on the Star One show Remix. Remix was an instant hit with the younger generation when it launched in 2004 as it was set in a high school and dealt with teen issues. Here, Anup played the approachable teacher whose look was modelled after Shah Rukh Khan’s look in Mohabbatein.

In a chat with YouTube channel Rajshri Unplugged, Anup recalled that the main star cast of the show – Priya Wal, Raj Singh Arora, Shweta Gulati and Karan Wahi became popular overnight and even his character of Raghav Dutt got a lot of love from the younger generation.

He recalled, “My role was that of a young, smart teacher. He wasn’t like your typical teacher. Kids were not scared of him. Students would tell him about their personal life.” Speaking about his SRK-inspired look, Anup said, “My look was like Shah Rukh Khan from Mohabbatein and I wore the same glasses as well. I had a great time working on that.”

Anup Soni shared the set was filled with young people who were just starting their career. “In their makeup room, there would be mattresses on the floor and 10-15 people would be sleeping there because they would work for 10-12, even 14 hours sometimes,” he shared.

Remix was one of the most popular shows of its time and was one of the early hits of Star One which also aired Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.

Anup Soni was recently seen in the TVF web series Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd.
