Amitabh Bachchan opens up about brother Ajitabh Bachchan, who advised him ‘you should join films’

Amitabh Bachchan revealed how his brother Ajitabh Bachchan sent Big B's pictures to a contest, only to get rejected.

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan took a trip down the memory lane and recalled how his brother Ajitabh Bachchan sowed the seeds of ‘acting’ in his mind and credited him for being the reason he entered the film industry. In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 15, Amitabh remembered his brother as the episode featured the Family Special Week with the ‘Bindaas Bhatia’ family. This episode was special because it showcased the first brother-and-sister duo on the quiz show.

Big B opened up about Ajitabh and said, “Dekhiye mai apko batata hoon, jaise bhai behno me ya do bhaiyon ka rishta hota hai na, jo chota hota hai kahi na kahi uske liye ek protective vatavaran banate hai humlog. ki uski dekh rekh karte rhe (Let me tell you that in relationships shared between brother and sister, or brothers, we tend to create a protective environment for the younger ones. We take care of them).”

The actor went on to mention that he also has a younger brother with a 5-6 years age-gap between them. He recalled how he always felt a sense of responsibility to protect his younger sibling, and interestingly, it was his younger brother who played a major role in his decision to enter the world of films.

Big B recalled how Ajitabh told him, “Dekho tumhe filmo me jaana chaiye (You should join films).” The actor continued, “Humlog naukri kar rhe the Kolkata mein, unhone hamari tasveer li or bhej diya ek contest me (We used to work in Kolkata. He took my pictures and sent them to a contest).” The actor then revealed that even though he got rejected in the contest, Ajitabh had successfully planted a thought in his mind. Big B then revealed that he quit the job after this incident.

For the unversed, Ajitabh is a businessman and leads a very private life in London. He is married to Ramola and has three children.
