Actor-turned-politician Vijay has donated Rs 1 crore to help with the construction Nadigar Sangam building. The association released a press note thanking Vijay for his donation.

Nadigar Sangam aka The South Indian Artiste Association, a union film body in Chennai for the actors of the Tamil film industry, has been trying to construct a building for its members for about a decade now. The current office bearers of the association came into power with the promise of building the same. Though the work started in full swing in 2017, it came to a halt due to several financial issues. Now, top stars of Tamil cinema are coming forward to help in the construction of the building.

Earlier, Kamal Haasan donated Rs 1 crore for the building, which was met with a lot of praise online. Now, Vijay has met similar appreciation posts. Nadigar Sangam Secretary actor Vishal took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude. He penned an emotional post. “Vijay, Thank u means just two words but means a lot to a person when he does it from his heart. Well, am talking about my favourite actor our very own #ThalapathiVijay brother for DONATING ONE CRORE towards our #SIAA #NadigarSangam building work. God bless u.”

He added, “Yes we always knew the building would be incomplete without your support and involvement. Now you have fuelled us to make it happen as soon as possible brother. #NandriNanba your style @actorvijay”

On the work front, actor Vijay is wrapping up his next film, Greatest of All Time. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, it is rumoured to be Viajy’s last film as he is set to focus on politics. Other reports claim Vijay could act in one more film after GOAT, but such speculations are yet to be confirmed.
