Hours after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Outer North Delhi, five minors were apprehended for killing him, said officers. The teenager was allegedly stabbed multiple times in what investigators say was a case of personal enmity.

According to police, a PCR call was received on Friday night, reporting that a group of 4-5 boys had attacked a young boy, leaving him unconscious.

The victim was subsequently rushed to a hospital by a relative, where doctors declared him dead, said police.

According to the doctor’s report, he had sustained several stab wounds. The body was preserved for postmortem examination, and teams from the Crime Team and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) inspected the spot to collect forensic evidence.

“During the investigation, it emerged that the deceased had personal enmity with one of the accused, owing to his relationship with the sister of the accused. On Friday, the accused and four of his associates, armed with knives, met the victim around 9 pm. The group stabbed him brutally and fled,” said DCP Outer North Hareshwar Swami.

Based on the complaint and initial findings, an FIR under sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (common intent) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered, said officers.

A special team was formed to trace the attackers. The team examined CCTV footage from the area and developed technical as well as human intelligence. Officers subsequently detained all five minors and the knives used in the crime were also recovered.
