Vishal, who is basking in the success of his cyber thriller Irumbu Thirai,has bought the Tamil remake rights of Puri Jagannath’s Telugu hit Temper.
Actor-producer Vishal is reeling under a new controversy after a whistleblower website accused him of burying his findings of Lyca Productions’ alleged involvement in the online piracy of Tamil films, for his personal gains.
Vishal-PS Mithran’s Irumbu Thirai en route to the big screen. The film, which also stars Samantha Akkineni and Arjun, is about cyber theft and data hacking in the era of Cambridge Analytica.
Helmed by PS Mithran, Irumbuthirai has Vishal, Arjun and Samantha Akkineni in lead roles. The film is set to hit the screens on May 11.
During a media interaction recently, Vishal was asked what was the one thing he doesn’t like about Ajith. He was also asked about the absence of Ajith in the silent protest held by the Tamil film industry over the issue of Cauvery last month.
At the audio launch of the upcoming film Mr. Chandramouli, Vishal thanked the producer and director for being co-operative during the 48-day strike. Mr. Chandramouli stars Karthik, Gautham Karthik and Regina Cassandra in the lead role. The film will release in the last week of May.

Irumbuthirai which is Mithran’s first film came after a hunt for several years. But the director recalls that despite working so much on the script, he was blank on the first day of shoot.
Directed by Mithran, Irumbu Thirai stars Vishal, Samantha Akkineni amid others. The film has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Vishal expressed his sadness saying it was disheartening for him as the nomination was initially accepted and later rejected after he left.
