Rajinikanth's films are superstar-studded even before anyone else signs on. However, there is a growing trend of his movies welcoming other major stars to join in on the fun. We saw it in Jailer, with the likes of Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff and Shivarajkumar joining forces with the Superstar. We are also going to see it in Coolie, which also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan. In his upcoming film, Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth will be sharing screen space with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan and Ritika Singh. The reveals started with Ritika Singh, who is playing a cop named Roopa. Then, it was announced that Dushara Vijayan, who was earning plaudits for her role in Dhanush's Raayan, would be playing a teacher named Saranya. Manju Warrier will play a vlogger named Thara. And after introducing the three strong women of Vettaiyan, the makers moved on to the three powerful men of the film. The suave Rana is set to become Natraj for Vettaiyan, and the uber cool Fahadh Faasil, who looks quite intriguing in the film's promotional material, will be playing the role of Patrick. Finally, on Thursday, it was announced that Amitabh Bachchan, in his first-ever role in Tamil, will be playing a character named Sathyadev. He is also composing the music for Coolie, Rajinikanth's next with Lokesh Kanagaraj. With cinematography by SR Kathir, and editing by Philomin Raj, Vettaiyan will hit the screens on October 10.
