Veera Dheera Sooran box office collection Day 2: Vikram-SU Arun Kumar film braves odds to enter Top 10 list of 2025

Veera Dheera Sooran box office collection Day 2: Vikram’s much-awaited film, Veera Dheera Sooran, helmed by SU Arun Kumar, was on track to hit the screens on March 27. The promotional drive was already in motion, and Vikram was spearheading the campaign, making pit-stops in cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Tiruchirappalli, and Chennai. However, just hours before the release, the film faced a huge setback, and the first day first show of Veera Dheera Sooran was cancelled. The deadlock wasn’t resolved for a few hours, and the film didn’t hit the screens for the matinee and noon shows too. Thankfully, the situation was resolved by the evening, and theatres slowly started screening the film, which also stars SJ Suryah, Dushara Vijayan, and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Despite these setbacks, the film managed to make Rs 3.4 crore on Day 1. However, these numbers aren’t reflective of the box-office pull of Vikram, whose previous release, Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan, opened with Rs 14 crore nett at the domestic box office, with the Tamil version amounting to Rs 12.4 crore. Even Ajay Gnanamuthu’s Cobra had a Rs 20.4 crore opening on Day 1. With confusion over the release date, and frequent cancellation of the shows would have put off people from turning to the theatres. This is why the occupancy for the evening shows stands at 21.14 percent. However, this figure almost doubled to 40.54 percent for the night shows, by when audiences had finally started stepping out.

On Day 2, the film made Rs 3.25 crore taking the overall domestic nett collections to Rs 6.25 crore. While there isn’t much of a fall between the two days, it is to be noted that Friday had all shows running, and it is generally the day when there are dips in the collection. It is also anticipated that the film will pick up during the weekend, considering it is the biggest Tamil release of the week. There is no competition for Veera Dheera Sooran in the Tamil Nadu box 0ffice till April 10 where Ajith Kumar’s much-awaited biggie, Good Bad Ugly will hit the screens. However, it is to be noted that Veera Dheera Sooran didn’t make a lot of inroads in Kerala simply because it clashed with a film like L2: Empuraan that is breaking records left, right, and centre.

The occupancy factor was quite consistent on Day 2 as the film had an overall 27.02 percent occupancy with the night shows leading from the front with 39.16 percent.

While team Veera Dheera Sooran are indeed riding the high of the positive responses to the film, they would hope for a change of fortunes this weekend, and in the days to come. Apart from Veera Dheera Sooran, Vikram is also working on Maaveeran director Madonne Ashwin’s next.
