It was a huge disappointment for fans who filled the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai to witness Chennai Super Kings take on Rajasthan Royals. Despite skipper MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja’s knocks, which came a little too late in the game, CSK lost the match on their home turf, disappointing thousands of fans and many celebrities who were also in attendance.

Two of Ponniyin Selvan’s leading actors–Trisha and Jayaram–were also cheering for the men in yellow, and the camera kept turning towards Trisha during the match. It would have been rather disappointing for her majesty Kundhavai and her spy Alwarkadiyan.

The two will soon return to the silver screen to finish off the remaining story of Ponniyin Selvan as the second part is slated to hit screens on April 28.

On the other hand, Aishwarya Rajesh used the occasion to promote her upcoming film, Soppana Sundari. Aishwarya with her co-star Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli and the film’s team were all seen wearing t-shirts with the imprint of the film’s title. Soppana Sundari, directed by SG Charles, is about a family of impoverished women winning a car in a lottery and the resulting problems surrounding the lucky asset.

Megha Akash, who is known for the film Enai Noki Paayum Thota, was visibly in distress as the middle order of CSK kept fumbling. Megha was last seen in Ravi Teja’s Ravansura, which turned out to be an underwhelming affair. She has a handful of projects in her kitty including Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir.

Thieves armed with chainsaws stole nine pieces of jewelry, including items belonging to Napoleon and Empress Joséphine, from the Louvre Museum. The museum was immediately shut down and a police investigation is underway. French Culture Minister Rachida Dati confirmed the incident and the Louvre remains closed. The robbers used a freight elevator and broke through glass displays.
