Thalapathy 68: Venkat Prabhu shares photos of Vijay using Light Stage

Even before Leo’s release, Vijay has moved on to his next project, which is tentatively titled Thalpathy 68. It was earlier confirmed Venkat Prabhu is directing the film, and now, the actor-director has taken to social media to share a couple of pictures from the sets of the film.

The photos reveal that the makers are using the technology called Light Stage, which helps capture digital images of the subject. It can be used to create a 3D version of the subject, which can used along with motion capture technology for better results. Though it is not known why Venkat is using the technology for the film, it is clear he is working on something big.

On top of that Venkat Prabhu captioned the pictures, “Welcome to the future.” It could mean two things. The director might be hinting at how the technology is going to become the future of filmmaking. Or, it could be a hint at Thalapathy 68 being a futuristic sci-fi film.

Venkat Prabhu and Vijay have been wanting to collaborate for a long time now. The director had met the actor many times over the years, and finally, he landed the project in 2023.

Venkat made a blockbuster film for actor Ajith, Mankatha. The film marked the comeback of Ajith. Vijay is currently in his prime, and it would be fascinating to see what the director will do with an in-form superstar.

Meanwhile, October 19 will witness the release of Vijay-starrer Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
