When it was rumoured that Amitabh Bachchan is part of Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 170, it wasn’t taken seriously as many a time Big B has been rumoured to be part of Tamil projects. Not this time. Lyca Productions has gone full-throttle with Thalaivar 170 as it has roped in top stars from across film industries, including the one and only Amitabh himself.

This is a significant feat in terms of casting as it brings together some incredible talent from across leading film industries. The movie has Fahadh Faasil from Malayalam, Rana Daggubati from Telugu, and now, Big B from Hindi.

The announcement from Lyca read, “Welcoming the Shahenshah of Indian cinema. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan on board for #Thalaivar170.#Thalaivar170Team reaches new heights with the towering talent of the one & only @SrBachchan.”

Rajinikanth has referred to Amitabh Bachchan as his mentor and inspiration several times, and the current generation will finally see the duo sharing the screen. The legends have previously shared screen space in Hum, Andhaa Kaanoon, and Geraftaar.

Thalaivar 170, directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame, also stars Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the film.
