Cinema and cricket have always shared a special bond, especially in Tamil cinema, where films like Chennai 600028 and Jeeva continue to be topics of discussion. Many actors, including Madhavan, have played cricketers in Tamil films, and the latest to join this list is Siddharth. Interestingly, Siddharth is sharing screen space with his Aayitha Ezhuthu co-star Madhavan in producer Sashikanth’s directorial debut, Test. The film also stars Nayanthara as one of the leads.

Launching the character promo of Siddharth, who plays Arjun in Test, Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, said, “Watching Siddharth in “Test” feels like watching a cricketer who has spent years in the game. His technical understanding and love for the sport was evident through his prep and now seeing it all come alive on screen, I know this film is going to be something special for him.”

In the glimpse into the world of Arjun, we see him as a top-tier Indian cricketer who falls out of favour with selectors after being out-of-form for a couple of years. This fuels in him a desire to make a comeback into the scheme of things, and there’s a beautiful dialogue that compares personal wins and team wins to a soldier at our country’s border. This gives us an insight into the kind of person Arjun is, and we also get to see Meera Jasmine, who plays his wife, and why she gets increasingly frustrated with her husband.

Talking about his character, Siddharth said in a statement, “Arjun’s story is one of passion and sacrifice. He’s not just playing for himself—he’s playing for the country, carrying the weight of expectations, the love for the game, and the battle between his dreams and reality. TEST is more than just a sports film; it’s about the choices that define us. I can’t wait for audiences to step into his world and witness it on Netflix.”

And it is clear that more such character reveal glimpses would be out considering the star-studded ensemble of the movie. Test will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
