Rajinikanth wraps up Lal Salaam shoot; director Aishwaryaa calls him ‘pure magic’

The superstar will be seen in an extended cameo in the film. In May, Lyca Productions, the banner backing Lal Salaam, revealed the first look of the actor as “Moideen Bhai” from the film.

Last month, Aishwaryaa had shared a behind-the-scenes moment from the film’s set. In the image, the filmmaker was seen giving instructions to Rajini during the filming of a scene. “I look at you… I never imagined there would come a day I’ll shoot with you.. I admire you… I adore you… Sometimes I look through you… Most of the time I look at the world with you… I realise… I am you… Every single day appa… more and more I love you. #shootingwiththesuperstar #lovemyjob #fatherdaughtergoals,” she noted.

Starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, the film also features former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev. It was Rajini himself who announced that Kapil would make a cameo appearance in the film.

The songs for Lal Salaam are being composed by Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman. The makers are aiming to release the film theatrically later this year.
