Rajinikanth, wife Latha celebrate 43 years of marriage, daughter Soundarya shares heartfelt tribute: ‘Rock solid’

February 26th marked superstar Rajinikanth and his wife Latha Rajinikanth 43rd wedding anniversary, and their daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth, took to social media to share a touching message commemorating the occasion. In a heartfelt post, Soundarya expressed admiration for her parents’ enduring bond, accompanied by snapshot of the couple.

The picture features Rajinikanth and Latha with a heartening smile. The two also proudly displayed the gold chains and rings that they exchanged 43 years ago.

Their love story comes across as a film on its own. Latha, then a student, met Rajinikanth on the sets of Thillu Mullu (1980) for an interview. Rajinikanth later revealed that he instantly knew Latha was the one. He proposed to her towards the end of the interview, who gave the nod with a smile. She also insisted that the actor had to seek the permission of her parents. Rajinikanth and Latha tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in 1981 at the Lord Venkateshwara temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

They have two daughters: Aishwarya and Soundarya, who are filmmakers. Aishwarya recently directed Rajinikanth in Lal Salaam. Soundarya has earlier made an animation film, titled Kochadaiyaan, with Rajinikanth in the lead role.

Over the years, Latha has donned several hats of being a singer, film producer, and entrepreneur. She was among the millions of Rajinikanth fans, who wanted him to enter politics. She expressed her disappointment in a recent event in Chennai.
