The long-awaited sequel, which has already seen multiple delays, will now hit shelves on November 19, 2026
Rockstar Games has once again postponed the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, and fans are furious. The long-awaited sequel, which has already seen multiple delays, will now hit shelves on November 19, 2026, according to an announcement made by the developers on social media.
“Grand Theft Auto 6 will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026,” Rockstar wrote in a statement. “We’re sorry for adding more time to what we know has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game to the level of polish you’ve come to expect and deserve.” The studio also thanked players for their “patience and support,” assuring them that the final product will be worth it.
But while company tries to calm the storm, the Internet is doing what it does best, turning disappointment into humour. Memes have flooded social media, with fans joking about how old they’ll be by the time GTA 6 actually releases. Others poked fun at the announcement itself, noting that Rockstar didn’t even include new screenshots to soften the blow.

Following the announcement of the delay, Grand Theft Auto 6 has been dominating Google searches, trending in both the United States and India as fans rush online for updates.
This isn’t the first time Rockstar Games has pushed back a major release. The studio has a long history of taking its time, GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 all faced multiple delays before launching to massive success. The upcoming GTA 6 will be an action-adventure title set in the iconic, fictional world of Vice City, a return that longtime fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting.
