Leo box office collection Day 4 early reports: Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Leo, starring Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, is expected to mint Rs 40 crore on Sunday.

After a spectacular opening at the box office, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s action-thriller Leo successfully concluded its first weekend with resounding success. According to industry tracker Sachnilk, Leo is poised to gross Rs 40 crore on Sunday, boosting its total domestic collection to Rs 179.85 crore.

The film is estimated to have 78.45 per cent Tamil occupancy and a solid 44.47 per cent Telugu occupancy on Sunday. Vijay’s film made an impressive debut at the box office with Rs 64.8 crore on Thursday. After a minor dip on Friday, with earnings of Rs 35 crore, the film rebounded during the weekend, amassing Rs 39 crore on Saturday and a projected Rs 40 crore on Sunday. Leo’s global collection is expected to reach around Rs 290 crore.

Leo is particularly excelling in Tamil Nadu, its home territory. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala mentioned this in a tweet, stating, “#Leo is doing well in TN.. It’s on its way to take the 2nd best 4-day opening weekend for 2023 in TN, after the No.1 #Jailer.”

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo also features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Sandy, and Gautham Menon, among others. The film was released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Indian Express’s Anandu Suresh gave the film three stars and wrote, “While Leo is undoubtedly a feather in ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s cap, it is indeed a step back for writer-director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Once expectations begin to mount on them, directors start following the voice of hype and not their uniqueness or talent that earned them that acclaim in the first place.”
