Dhayam director Kannan Rangaswamy dies at 29

Kannan Rangaswamy was admitted to the hospital after he suffered a heart-attack on September 23. He was later moved to Jipmer hospital in Pondicherry. His condition continued to deteriorate. He remained in coma for about 15 days before he suffered a massive heart-attack on October 29, at 9am, from which he failed to recover.

In a shocking incident, young director Kannan Rangaswamy died on Sunday at a private hospital in Tamil Nadu. He had celebrated his 29th birthday only last month.

Kannan was admitted to the hospital after he suffered a heart-attack on September 23. He was later moved to Jipmer hospital in Pondicherry. His condition continued to deteriorate. He remained in coma for about 15 days before he suffered a massive heart-attack on October 29, at 9am, from which he failed to recover.

Kannan Rangaswamy’s directorial debut movie Dhayam released earlier this year and created a lot of curiosity for being a thriller shot entirely inside a room. The film had Santhosh Prathap, Jayakumar, Aanchal Singh, Samaira Sandhu, Aira Agarval among others in the lead role. The film revolves around eight people who are giving an interview for the post of a CEO in a top company.

Kannan made his directorial debut without assisting any others directors in the film industry in the past. However, he underwent filmmaking training in New York.

Kannan was living in Chennai. Both his parents have also passed away.
