Atlee reveals what Shah Rukh Khan promised Vijay after confirming Jawan

Director Atlee is on cloud nine with the earth-shattering success of Jawan, which has collected over Rs 1100 crore at the worldwide box office. The director had been working on the film since 2021 and it finally was released in 2023 to a tremendous response across the country. Now, in an interview with TV presenter Gopinath, Atlee revealed that Vijay was the first one to know that the film was confirmed.

Atlee shared how Shah Rukh Khan wanted Jawan to work for both him and the director. “He said, ‘You are coming from a place of success. Many like you, who have been king in their place, have come here and failed. That shouldn’t happen. It is not about money, but name. If you fail, then I will fail with you.’ He then asked me to call Vijay anna on the phone,” Atlee said.

Shah Rukh wanted to tell Vijay about Jawan. Atlee also revealed a promise SRK made to Vijay. “I called Vijay anna and told him SRK wants to speak to him, He was like ‘Yaen da’ (Why da?)’ When they spoke, SRK sir told Vijay sir that he would make sure that there was no issue for me because of the film and that I would become the biggest director in the country. Vijay sir was so happy after hearing that.”

Vijay was a constant support to Atlee during the shoot of Jawan, revealed the director. “He told me to finish it properly and be patient. He constantly remained a support throughout the journey,” Atlee said.

Now, there’s a huge chance that Atlee will bring together Vijay and Shah Rukh Khan for a film. He confirmed that both the heroes had given their permission. Atlee hinted that it could be his next project.
