Geeta Kapoor, Ahmed Khan return as judges on ‘DID’

They’ll be seen as judges on DID L’il Masters Season 3

The third edition of Dance India Dance L’il Masters is set to kickstart from March 1 onwards, with choreographers Geeta Kapoor and Ahmed Khan as judges. The duo were last seen together as judges of DID Dance Ka Tashan. Talking about the show, Kapoor says, “Every season of DID has been special, and L’il Masters particularly has been satisfying in terms of creativity. Watching the kids dance (and grow as dancers) is extremely gratifying. We are sure this season too will be memorable and exciting.” Ahmed Khan added, “I was supposed to be a part of DID from the first season itself, but it didn’t work out. I love kids, so there was no question of me declining the show.” Jitumoni and Faisal Khan have been the winners of the earlier two seasons of L’il Masters.

Shiv-Anandi turn parents

Known to send strong social messages, Colors’ Balika Vadhu is set to live upto its reputation yet again in its forthcoming episodes. This time, the lead protagonists, Shiv (Siddharth Shukla) and Anandi (Toral Rasputra) adopt a disabled child (Kushmeet Gill). The show will concentrate on Shiv-Anandi’s equation with the kid.

Ask Shukla about it, and he says, “I think a strong message is being sent out to the viewers. I’m happy that the show is reaching out to a lot of people, and even if one person takes inspiration from that and adopts a kid, that’d be great!”
Unlike most actors his age who shy away from playing fathers on screen, Shukla is enjoying the experience of donning the father’s hat. “I find it really interesting,” he says. “I’m not even married, but through this serial I am getting a good experience of being a husband and father. I love kids and love being with them, so I’m enjoying shooting with him. It’s fun on the sets,” he adds.

Bani goes Khoon Bhari Maang way

The latest twist in Bani Ishq Da Kalma is that Bani (Shefali Sharma) is almost killed off by her husband Parmeet (Gaurav Chaudhary). Her cousin sister Rajji (Neha Baggi) seems to be the only one to know that she has survived the attempt on her life.
Evidentally, heroes going negative seems to be the new trend on the small screen. Chaudhary, however, opines, “Television is all about introducing novelty to its story to attract as many viewers to it as possible. As far as the current track on the show is concerned, I don’t like to use the word ‘kill’. Parmeet is so irritated with Bani, that he just wants to get rid of her and takes an extreme step.” However, the actor adds that it’s not been easy to play negative as the character is a far cry from his nature in real life.
Meanwhile, the big question is about Bani, who’s this quintessential Indian wife, always forgiving her husband for his misdeeds. Will she forgive him for harming her? Or take revenge? Since the actors are unwilling to reveal anything, time will tell if Bani goes the Khoon Bhari Maang way.

Manish Goswami to adapt Bengali novels for serials

The producer has bought the rights of classics like Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam

Television producer Manish Goswami has picked up the rights of a few Bengali novels to turn them into television shows. Talking about it, he says, “I’ve bought the rights of some award-winning literature from Kolkata. Some of the novels include Pratham Pratisruti, Subharnlata, and Bakul Katha, which are a part of the trilogy. I’m pitching these ideas to some channel, but can’t reveal much as of now.”
Interestingly, Goswami has also bought the rights of Bimal Mishra’s novels like Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Pati Param Guru among others, to adapt them on television, but it shall only be a while before things materialise on that front.
