Shahid Kapoor who showed a keen desire to work in the Hindi remake of the 2009 Telugu historical romance drama Magadheera stating that he had been wanting to do the film for the longest, has now been confirmed for the project. “Yes, Sajid Nadiadwala has got the rights of the film and Shahid has been confirmed for the Hindi remake,” said a spokesperson from Nadiadwala’s office.
In an earlier interview to Screen, Kapoor had said “I have seen the film and loved it. I think it’s a killer subject.”
Magadheera, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, was the highest grossing Telugu film of all times, and had Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead.
