Party time
Two elaborate party songs were shot for Welcome Back in Mumbai’s Mehboob studio
The costumes for the wedding song sequence cost around one crore
Shed number 1 in Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio witnessed a flurry of activity last week. Director Anees Bazmee was shooting two tracks for his upcoming comedy Welcome Back. The spirited wedding party track Tutti bole wedding di had about 200 dancers and hundreds of junior artistes dancing with the lead cast comprising of Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, Dimple Kapadia, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Surveen Chawla (special appearance) and newbie Ankitaa Srivastav. The mammoth studio premise looked resplendent with gigantic chandeliers, bouquets of flowers and pink drapes. Most of the female crowd wore sarees, the guys were seen strutting around in sherwanis and suits. While Ganesh Acharya choreographed Tutti bole…, the stars were seen dancing to Ahmed Khan’s moves in the sparkling Halloween party number Nas nas vich, also filmed at the same studio. This time round, the shed was transformed into Shah’s house where a party was held. The flowers gave way to intriguing statutes and artefacts and the actors’ now wore Western clothes. Gowns for the females and shirts and trousers for the guys.
