Tanvi Azmi Tanvi Azmi

Tanvi Azmi, who was last seen in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and who is to appear in Bobby Jasoos, makes her debut in the Marathi film Lai Bhaari in the role of Riteish Deshmukh’s mother. But the actress was in a huge dilemma when the offer came to her. Not because she had to play the mother, but because the film was in Marathi. “Though Marathi is my mother tongue, I haven’t really, really spoken the language in a long while. I am sure my mother, the late Usha Kiran who was a brilliant actress of Hindi and Marathi films, will be annoyed up there (pointing upwards) to hear me say this, but it is true.”
However when she started shooting for the film, she found it to be a cakewalk and realised that she hadn’t forgotten the language like she thought she had. And at the event, one heard her interacting in her mother tongue, much to the surprise of many.
