Deepika Padukone, at the Finding Fanny event recalled her experience of working with Dimple Kapadia. Having worked together in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail and now in Finding Fanny, Deepika said that Dimple treats her like her daughter. “During the shooting of Cocktail, she used to take me out for lunch and shopping. She spoils me and pampers me a lot. Dimpleji is a lovely person. I cannot express in words what she means to me,” smiled the young actress who when asked if she convinced Ranveer Singh to do the cameo, that of her dead husband, in the film, grinned saying that she did not have a say in the film’s casting.
Weighty matters
At the song launch of Fanny re from the film Finding Fanny, director Homi Adajania expressed his happiness at having two very talented actors Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur in the same frame for the quirky comedy. He told the media that it was easy to work with them as they are thorough professionals and have different approach towards acting. “They are brothers-in-law in real life and it was fun to watch them at work,” he said adding that Dimple Kapadia needed to have 20 kilos of prosthetics to enhance her backside and her body. However, the actress was so enthusiastic about her character that she was even willing to carry off 40 kilos, but she was advised otherwise.
