It is a great feeling because this is my first ever award. I was nominated three times at different award functions earlier, but did not win. Screen Award will always remain special for me. Unfortunately, I missed the award function and would have loved to meet Shah Rukh Khan; I am a great fans of his. I thank Screen and the entire team of Balak Palak, it is their award as well. Now with this honour, comes a bigger responsibility to do better in future.

Most Promising Newcomer (Female)
Shriya Pilgaonkar (Ekulti Ek )
Shriya Pilgoankar is the only child of veteran actor Sachin and Supriya Pilgoankar. She made her acting debut with Ekulti Ek, which was directed by her father who played her reel-life father in the film. The young girl is very much into dramatics like her illustrious parents. Screen is her first award ever.
Screen Award is extremely special as it is my first award for acting. I am glad that my efforts in my father’s film has been acknowledged. There was a lot of trust involved in this project. People talk about parents’ wanting to launch their children, but I think it is equally important for the kids to show their talent and earn merit for it. I feel I have justified that opportunity. I missed the Screen event as I had a play in Bangalore. The Screen award has motivated me to do more good and interesting projects. — Shriya Pilgaonkar
