Veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar has slammed members of the new Nadigar Sangam administration in a series of tweets for ‘temporally’ suspending her husband and brother among others from the actors’ guild on charges of corruption. On Sunday, the Nadigar Sangam held an executive committee meeting where the decision to suspend Sarathkumar, Radharavi and Vaagai Chandrasekar was collectively taken.

She also claimed that she has been suspended for questioning the actions of the South Indian Artistes Association, popularly known as Nadigar Sangam. “Boys @VishalKOfficial @Karthi_Offl suspend me for questioning,” she posted on her Twitter account.

Radhika has accused Vishal of indulging in ‘witch hunt’ against former office-bearers and said he has no proof to back his allegations. “The witch hunt starts in NadigarSangam @VishalKOfficial accusations started with 100cr now diacounted amt, no explanation 2 where discrepancy. 2- no explanation, no clarification, just taken off membership, the need nw is fr more mature &seasoned ppl. @VishalKOfficial @Karthi_Offl,” she said.

“3- Wht is the final end??? Just accusations without proof. Can u erase the bitterness.grow up boys @Karthi_Offl @VishalKOfficial,” she added, “When there was misunderstanding u were given opp to clarify and u apologized. Did u call?? @VishalKOfficial too much hatred within you.”

An FIR has also been lodged against the suspended members and others for allegedly mishandling Nadigar Sangam funds.

In a recent statement, Nadigar Sangam has said that the accused members will remain under suspension until the investigation is completed. The new administration carried out an audit of Nagiar Sangam’s account books pertaining to the tenure of the previous administration and has allegedly found financial irregularities. The former administration has been accused of misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs 1.65 crore.

The relationship and power equation among the Tamil film actors changed following the last year’s controversial Nadigar Sangam elections. The strong anti-incumbency wave worked in favour of the team headed by Vishal as they overthrew the administration headed by Sarathkumar, who held the president post for three tenures without any opposition.
