Actor Rishab Shetty, who is currently basking in the box office success of Kantara Chapter 1, faced tremendous pressure to deliver after the commercial and critical success of Kantara. In a recent interview, Rishab’s co-star Gulshan Devaiah talked about his ability to deal with the aforementioned pressure and his own stardom. He lauded the actor for being grounded throughout the whole process of filming and how he brings a little bit of his own identity into everything he does.

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Gulshan was asked about his experience of working with Rishab, and the actor admitted that his own curious nature led him to discover some very interesting things about his director. He said, “I was very curious about him, not necessarily about his background, but about how he is able to do all these things. Especially how he handled the pressure of the prequel being as good as or better than the first film.”

Gulshan added that he realised the true scale of Rishab’s fame when they started shooting in the village the director grew up in. “So when I say Rishab shooting in his own village, I realise that he is revered there. Nobody questions him. If he tells someone to do something for him, they will do it. That kind of stardom can really mess with your head, and he has only recently reached that level,” said Gulshan.

Gulshan Devaiah further said that Rishab Shetty is extremely grounded and that his family has contributed a lot to his humble attitude. “I have a great deal of respect for him, and he has been able to stay grounded. I think his family, especially his wife, has been able to keep him real. He enjoys his stardom, and he will wear a Prada shirt and Gucci loafers in a way which will show where he is from. That is something great, because you aren’t changing yourself, and you are just taking things from the outside to incorporate them into your own life.”

Kantara Chapter 1, also starring Jayaram and Rukmini Vasanth in pivotal roles, has crossed the Rs 852 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
