American singer and Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ husband, Nick Jonas recently collaborated with the hip-hop artist King for a new version of the latter’s song “Maan Meri Jaan”. The song’s original version became a sensation on the internet upon its release in 2022.
In the recreated version which has been titled “Maan Meri Jaan (Afterlife)”, the Hindi vocals, sung by King, remain the same. But it gets better with Jonas’ bit in English. Towards the end of the over 3-minute-long song, Jonas also sings the hook line, “Maan Meri Jaan” in Hindi. Besides singing the song, Jonas has also contributed to penning the lyrics of the song along with David Arkwright, King, Miranda Glory, Natania Lalwani, and Paris Carney.
Sharing the song, Nick wrote on Instagram, “Let’s get it! ”Maan Meri Jaan (Afterlife)” with @ifeelking is out now!” The song got a lot of love from his and King’s fans. One wrote, “Despite difference in language, their voices compliment each other flawlessly 🙌.” Another added, “This collaboration is just crazy, nobody saw that comin!!” Many also took notice of Nick Jonas’ attempt to sing the Hindi lyrics and complimented him, “hearing Nick say “TU MAAN MERI JAAN” just gave me goosebumps😍” A fan also wrote, “this song gives me GOOSEBUMPS. Absolutely a marvelous piece. Love you Nick and King ✨🥰.”
Rapper King, whose real name is Arpan Kumar Chandel, took part in the first season of the rap-based reality show Hustle in 2019. He was seen as a squad boss on Hustle 2.0 which aired in 2022. The rapper made his Bollywood debut with the Drishyam 2 song “Sahi Galat”.
