Crowd chants ‘jiju’ as Nick Jonas takes the stage in Mumbai, Priyanka Chopra gets emotional

The Jonas Brothers received a warm reception from the crowd at their recent Mumbai concert, with chants of 'Jiju' echoing to welcome Nick. Following the performance, the Jonas Brothers joined Natasha Poonawalla’s party.

Nick Jonas and his brothers, Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas, marked their debut performance in India on Saturday, captivating the audience at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse during a two-day music extravaganza. The crowd warmly welcomed the Jonas Brothers, with chants of ‘Jiju’ as Nick took the stage. Joining forces with singer King, Nick belted out their hit song “Tu Maan Meri Jaan” in a memorable performance.

As glimpses of the concert flooded social media, it became evident that the Jonas Brothers thoroughly enjoyed their time performing in India. In a heartwarming moment, Joe and Kevin introduced Nick as ‘jiju’, with the crowd chanting in excitement. Priyanka Chopra did not accompany him to India for this event.

Priyanka Chopra shared the viral video on her Instagram story and thanked Mumbai for giving warm welcome to Nick. She wrote, “My heart …Thank you Mumbai.” Taapsee Pannu also shared her video from the concert and wrote, “Jijaji stage par hai.”

In another video clip, Nick collaborated with singer and rapper King for a rendition of “Maan Meri Jaan x Afterlife.” Addressing the audience during the concert, Nick humorously remarked, “This is our very first time performing in India. The sangeet doesn’t count,” alluding to the elaborate pre-wedding ceremony held before his marriage to Priyanka in 2018.

Expressing a heartfelt connection with India, Nick shared, “We, as a family, have a deep, deep connection with the country,” as the crowd echoed with chants of “jiju, jiju.” Grateful for the warm reception, he added, “Thank you for having us, and we will make the most exciting night ever.”

Post-concert, the Jonas Brothers were spotted at Natasha Poonawalla’s party, where celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, her husband Anand Ahuja and Malaika Arora also joined the celebration.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas first crossed paths at the Met Gala in 2017, representing Ralph Lauren. They exchanged vows at Umaid Bhawan Palace in 2018 and welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, into the world in January 2022.
