Indian artistes are truly transcending international boundaries like never before, and Punjabi pop singer Karan Aujla just added himself into a very exclusive club. Joining artistes like Diljit Dosanjh and Mohini Dey, Karan became one of the very few Indian artistes to ever perform at the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The host introduced him with every ounce of excitement in him, and the crowd absolutely loved grooving to Karan’s new-age Punjabi pop sound.

The artist recently released his latest studio album, P-Pop Culture, with two separate discs showcasing two completely different sides of the singer. During his performance, the singer performed one track each from both discs, namely ‘Boyfriend’ and ‘Gabru’. While one disc displays a softer and more subtle Aujla talking about themes surrounding love, the other disc takes a more ‘in your face’ approach and revolves around the themes of success and hard work. Those familiar with the album and Karan’s discography must have been glad to see producer and musician Ikky come out to perform ‘Gabru’ with the artiste.

The artiste also posted a video on Instagram in collaboration with the talk show’s page where Karan and Jimmy could be seen greeting each other just before the singer showed some bhangra moves. Jimmy said, “Thanks for being here. Look at you! You look fantastic; I wish I looked that good.” Karan returned the compliment and said, “I am going to teach you some bhangra today, and I know you’re ready for this.” Karan showed him a few basic steps, and Kimmel followed.

Before starting his performance, Karan posted a number of stories, highlighting how it was a big day for his team, and even shared pictures of his dressing room. Karan thanked his fans in one of the stories and said, “We just finished the performance at one of the biggest shows in the US. The Punjabi connection is so strong, and I heard that people had been standing in line since 4 in the morning to get the tickets. You guys have really doubled my confidence, and thank you to all the people who came all the way to see me perform a set for just 5-7 minutes. I love you guys.”
