Movie Review: The Hole 3-D A 2009 film that’s making a return, with ‘3-d’ attached to its name. Talk of desperate measures.

However, that apart,The Hole, about a family that discovers a bottomless hole in the basement of its new house, which holds everyone’s darkest fears and nightmares, does a pretty okay job balancing the normal with the un-natural.

So the three kids,Dane (Massoglia),Julie (Bennet) and Lucas (Gamble),who make the discovery don’t really have some bottomless secrets of their own to hide. And neither does what come crawling out of the hole an alien or a beast. They are ordinary,if remarkably unruffled, teens and a boy, with ordinary worries.

But just when you think the film will wrap up the story for what it’s worth with the same sane-ness,it digresses. And a bottomless pit,“that has existed since man uttered its first scream”,suddenly has a bottom. A pretty hard bottom.
