Indian Express Ratings:*

While whether Tobin Frost has sold his soul remains a matter of conjecture in ‘Safe House’,Johnny Blaze of Ghost Rider (Cage) leaves little unsaid about the “torture” he has been undergoing for “making the deal with the devil to save his father”.

Since he remains “the person he is”,when the devil comes upon him,Blaze doesn’t target innocents but seeks out the “dark side in people” and targets them. Given that “everyone has something dark inside them”,that makes him a dangerous person to have around.

Those who have seen the first Ghost Rider or the Marvel comics on which the movies are based are aware of this general spread. The toppings here come in the form of a mother (Placedo) and her son, conceived by her as part of another deal with the devil (Hinds). In other words, the child is the devil’s son and needs to be kept safe for a few days till some “rite”,that would end up giving the devil unmatchable powers.

Since Blaze and his bike go all aflame when he comes into his devilish form, there is a lot that burns in Ghost Rider — from vehicles, machinery and places to people. However, nobody, but nobody sweats.
