Now, Shibu Baby John’s John & Mary Creative, which is co-producing the movie, has officially announced that the film’s shooting has been completed.

“We have successfully completed the film’s shooting. We are all happy about it. We are thankful to the entire team. I sincerely hope that this film turns out to be a momentous one that we can all be proud of,” LJP said before announcing “pack up”, which was received by the crew of the film with a thunderous cheer.

Sharing the video, John & Mary Creative wrote on Instagram, “Thanks. Our first film venture, Malaikottai Vaaliban, has successfully completed its shoot. We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all the artistes and technicians who travelled with the film and worked round-the-clock from the first stage of the film to the moment of its pack up. The support given by the Malayali audiences and the media at every juncture of the film’s shooting has been huge. The enthusiasm and energy that this support provided our team is indescribable. Now begins Malaikottai Vaaliban’s journey to reach the theatres. We hope to receive your sincere love and cooperation in this journey as well.”

The shooting of the highly ambitious film spanned 130 days, covering multiple locales in Rajasthan, Chennai, and Puducherry (Pondicherry). Malaikottai Vaaliban is Lijo Jose Pellissery’s biggest project to date.

Penned by PS Rafeeque and bankrolled by Shibu Baby John for John & Mary Creative, along with Century Films, Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, and Amen Movie Monastery, Malaikottai Vaaliban is said to be a period drama.

While Madhu Neelakandan is handling the film’s cinematography, its songs are composed by Prashant Pillai, and Deepu S Joseph is in charge of editing. Ronex Xavier has created the costumes for the film.

A brief 36-second sneak peek video of the movie that the makers released last month had taken the internet by storm.

The promo  commenced by showcasing a colossal bundle of rope, swiftly being pulled by an unseen individual. As eager onlookers gathered on either side of the rope, the unseen figure exerted tremendous strength on the rope, causing the sand and dust adhering to it to cascade down in a pattern. It was only at the 12th second that viewers caught a glimpse of Mohanlal as the one tugging the rope.

The video concluded with a mid-shot, capturing Mohanlal fervently tugging the rope as he screamed at the camera. His attire reflected the distinctive style of the locale where the narrative unfolded, accompanied by a background score that evoked nostalgic echoes of popular disco tunes.
