Wayanad landslide: Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Vikram donate to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund

Fahadh Faasil and his wife Nazriya Nazim have also announced a donation of Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help those in dire need.

The actor’s team shared a statement that reads, “To The Honourable Chief Minister, Keralam. We write to you with a heavy heart for the people of Wayanad. The ongoing efforts of our government alongside volunteers, rescue teams and organizations involved in providing aid and support to the affected communities have been commendable. The dedication and resilience of our people have been truly inspiring and we feel compelled to extend our support during this challenging time.”

It further read, “To aid in the relief and rehabilitation efforts, we are making a donation of Rs 25,00,000/- (Twenty- Five Lakhs Only) to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. We hope this modest contribution will help provide necessary assistance to those in dire need. Our thoughts and prayers are with our people as we navigate through this difficult period. Many other celebrities have donated to the Chief Minister’s fund, including Vikram, who donated Rs 20 lakh to help the victims. While Suriya, Karthi, and Jyotika collectively donated Rs 50 lakh, Animal actor Rashmika Mandanna contributed Rs 10 lakh.

After the landslide, which was the result of torrential rains, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan confirmed that 240 people remain missing, while more than 1,500 have been rescued from the affected areas. On Thursday, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived in Wayanad and are set to visit relief camps and the medical college to support and meet the affected families.
