Parava director Soubin Shahir gets hitched to his girlfriend Jamia Zaheer

In November, the 34-years-old actor confirmed that he was, indeed, engaged to Jamia, a native of Kozhikode. Jamia is said to be a marketing professional, who is based in Kochi.

Soubin is currently basking in the success of his directorial debut Parava. The film, which starred mostly newcomers in the lead roles, also had Dulquer Salmaan playing a pivotal role. The film received critical acclaim and subsequently also had a good run at the Kerala box office.

The film also created a record by becoming one of five films in 2017 that saw the highest-grossing opening day in Kerala.

The director entered the film industry in 2003 as an assistant director Siddique with Mammootty’s film Chronic Bachelor. He also assisted directors like Fazil, Rafi-Mecartin, P. Sukumar, Santhosh Sivan, Rajeev Ravi, and Amal Neerad.

He made his acting debut with Fazil’s Kaiyethum Doorath and become among the top comedians of the Malayalam film industry. He got his first break as an actor with actor Nivin Pauly’s blockbuster Putharen’s Premam and was also part of major blockbusters like Charlie, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Kali, Darvinte Parinamam.

Soubin is currently working on his second directorial venture, which will have Fahadh Faasil in the lead role.
