Penned by PS Rafeeque and bankrolled by Shibu Baby John, Lijo Jose Pellissery's Malaikottai Vaaliban is said to be a period drama.

In spite of the passage of considerable time since Malayalam superstar Mohanlal last showcased his remarkable talent, his allure and fame remain unscathed. The tremendous outpouring of affection on social media by his colleagues and admirers worldwide on his birthday attests to this fact. From Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and megastar Mammootty to Manju Warrier and youngsters Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas, each of them expressed heartfelt wishes that resonated with warmth for the celebrated actor.
Meanwhile, his fans eagerly awaiting news about Mohanlal’s upcoming movies were filled with joy as the creators of the highly anticipated film Malaikottai Vaaliban, helmed by director Lijo Jose Pellissery, unveiled a mesmerising sneak peek video that left them awestruck.
The brief 36-second promotional video commences by showcasing a colossal bundle of rope, swiftly being pulled by an unseen individual. Eager onlookers gather on either side of the rope, while the unseen figure exerts tremendous strength, causing the sand and dust adhering to the rope to cascade down in a pattern. It is only at the 12th second that viewers catch a glimpse of Mohanlal as the one tugging the rope.
The promo concludes with a mid-shot, capturing Mohanlal fervently tugging the rope as he screams at the camera. His attire reflects the distinctive style of the locale where the narrative unfolds, accompanied by a background score that evokes nostalgic echoes of popular disco tunes.
Penned by PS Rafeeque and bankrolled by Shibu Baby John for John & Mary Creative, along with Century Films, Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, and Amen Movie Monastery, Malaikottai Vaaliban is said to be a period drama.
While Madhu Neelakandan is handling the film’s cinematography, its songs are composed by Prashant Pillai, and Deepu S Joseph is in charge of editing.
The film also features Marathi actor Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Manikandan Achari, Rajeev Pillai, Kannada actor and comedian Danish Sait, and Hariprashant Varma.
