Mamangam trailer: Mammootty’s period film looks gorgeous
Mammootty starrer Mamangam's trailer presents a movie that is mounted on a lavish scale and features high-end visual effects. The film will hit theaters on November 21.
Mamangam will hit theatres on November 21.
The trailer for Malayalam period drama Mamangam is out. The M Padmakumar directorial features Mammootty in the lead role and is set against the Mamankam festival that used to take place every 12 years. It was last held in the 18th century.
The movie focuses on the elite suicide squad called Chaverpada, who were trained to assassinate the Zamorin at the event. The movie’s tagline reads, “The history of the brave.”
The trailer presents a movie that is mounted on a lavish scale and features high-end visual effects. The combat scenes, both close quarters and otherwise, are elaborately choreographed and the hefty budget appears to have been put to good use as far as action goes.
Indeed, the trailer is chock-full of breathtaking action sequences that respect physics. The 18th-century era’s Kerala also has been faithfully recreated.
Mamangam also stars Prachi Tehlan, Unni Mukundan and Anu Sithara.
Sajeev Pillai has penned the script. M Jayachandran is the composer, while Manoj Pillai has handled the camera.
The original Malayalam film is being dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Mamangam will hit theaters on November 21.
