Since rockstar Ozzy Osbourne’s tragic passing in July, fans across the world have paid their respects and remembered all that he did for rock and roll as a genre. Ozzy was remembered once again during an episode of WWE Monday Night Raw by wrestler Becky Lynch when she made a joke at the expense of the rockstar and his hometown, Birmingham. Without skipping a beat, Ozzy’s daughter Kelly Osbourne took to social media and made her feelings clear about the comments.

Kelly took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Becky Lynch, you are a disrespectful dirt***. Birmingham would not p*** on you if you were on fire. Birmingham forever. Shame on WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home.” It’s evident that Kelly was quite furious with Becky’s comments, and all of it could be very easily avoided if not for Becky trying her best to convince the WWE Universe that she in fact is a heel (negative character). Becky is currently feuding with a legend of the women’s division, Nikki Bella, and the joke came during a heated conversation between the two.

Becky was cutting a promo when Nikki walked out to the ring to interrupt her. She pointed out that Becky, who is the current Women’s Intercontinental Champion, keeps telling people that she wrote history with her career, but she wouldn’t “have a page to write that history if it wasn’t for her (Nikki).” She called the champion a coward for not facing her, and Becky took the bait and agreed to a match. She said, “Fine! You can have your match, but at Clash In Paris. Because I am not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing to come out of here died a month ago. But at least he had the good sense to move out to LA, a proper city. Because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.”

A lot of jeers followed this statement, and Nikki moved the segment forward before the crowd got stuck on that one comment. WWE does all sorts of stuff in order to establish someone as the bad guy, and cheap shots, negative comments, or talking down to the audience are just some of the ways they do it. Yet the reaction of the crowd and Kelly is proof that this was a joke made too soon, and that too in poor taste.

The show also saw Bron Breakker securing the win over LA Knight, and Jey Uso taking both CM Punk and Knight out with a superkick after the two started attacking each other. Roman Reigns took the fight to Bronson Reed and, despite heavy security, made sure he was standing on top when the altercation was over. Iyo Sky saved Rhea Ripley, Kofi Kingston beat Penta with some outside help, and AJ Styles emerged victorious over Finn Balor. Clash In Paris will take place on August 31 and will be streaming live on Netflix.
