Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning box office collection day 5: Tom Cruise’s blockbuster earns four times as much as Loveyapa
Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning box office collection day 5: Indian fans are lapping up Tom Cruise's film which released six days before it does in the US cinemas.

Supposedly Tom Cruise’s final turn as Ethan Hunt, Christopher McQuarrie’s spy thriller Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is connecting with fans across the globe, including in India. Since it released in the country six days before the US, Indian fans got a good head start and they’re not missing the chance to lap up the movie. On Wednesday, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning earned Rs 4.75 crore, a slight dip from its earnings on Tuesday (Rs 5.75 crore), which were equal to Monday’s collections. The film collected majority of its money over the opening weekend, earning Rs 16.5 crore and Rs 17 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the current Indian box office collection of the movie stands at Rs 49.75 crore. But since the Wednesday figure is only the early estimate so far, in all likeliness, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning would’ve crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India. And it’s likely to add another few crores to its collection today. The Final Reckoning has left several Indian films in the dust; movies such as Emraan Hashmi’s Ground Zero, Arjun Kapoor’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi, and Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa couldn’t crack the Rs 10 crore mark.
The Tom Cruise-starrer will face off against three new releases tomorrow. These include the Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf, which is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Maddock is known for dominating the box office, whether it’s with Vicky Kaushal-starrer historical war drama Chhaava this year or with Amar Kaushik’s horror comedy Stree 2 last year, which also starred Rao in the lead. Both films crossed the unprecedented Rs 600 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Along with Bhool Chuk Maaf, helmed by debutant director Karan Sharma, Prince Dhiman’s historical action film Kesari Veer, starring Suniel Shetty, and Dean Fleischer Camp’s Disney sci-fi comedy Lilo & Stitch are also releasing in cinemas tomorrow. So, Mission: Impossible – The Dead Reckoning is all set to face some fresh competition at the Indian box office this weekend.
On Wednesday, the film registered maximum theatre occupancy in the night shows (18.28%), followed by evening (14.25%), afternoon (12.91%), and morning (6.66%). Regionally, it continued to score the maximum occupancy in Chennai (41.25%), followed by Kochi (23%), Hyderabad (13.25%), Mumbai (13%), and Bengaluru (12.75%).
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is the eighth and final instalment in the iconic spy thriller franchise, which started in 1996. Cruise, who was introduced as superspy Ethan Hunt in the first Mission: Impossible, reprised his role in Mission: Impossible 2 (2000), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015), Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018), and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (2023).
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning also stars Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Katy O’Brian and Tramell Tillman. It’s presented by Paramount Pictures and Skydance. The film had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last week.
