The Game of Thrones has gotten out of hand with politics, ambition, death, and dragons. In an unexpected move, HBO has dropped two dueling trailers for the second season of House of the Dragon, one focusing on Rhaenyra’s 'team black' and the other on Alicent’s 'team green'. With each trailer being presented from the perspective of the two factions on either side of the Targaryen Civil War, the move is simple: to urge viewers to pick sides. The new season picks up after the death of King Viserys I, and will show how his daughter Rhaenyra, played by Emma D’Arcy, and wife Alicent, played by Olivia Cooke, are now at war for the Iron throne. While team black features Rhaenyra, Prince Daemon and their faction on Dragonstone, Team Green shows events at the King’s Landing involving Alicent, her father Otto and her children King Aegon and Prince Aemond. Watch House of the Dragon delves into the ruthless Dance of the Dragons, a tumultuous chapter in Westeros history that devastated the powerful Targaryen Empire. The second season of House of the Dragon will premiere on June 16, two years after the first season made its acclaimed debut. Based on parts of George RR Martin's 2018 book Fire & Blood, the series begins nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
