Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 first reactions: Critics call MCU movie ‘epic and emotional’
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is the third and final chapter of the Guardian series. Reviewers have termed the film as a perfect send-off to the series.

The third and final installment from Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians of the Galaxy is almost here. But before the film finally lands in theatres on May 5, its first reactions are already out on the internet. Film critics and reviewers are calling James Gunn‘s swan song for Marvel Studios ‘brilliant’ and ‘funny.’
Reviewer Ian Sandwell from Digital Spy also tagged it as emotional and tweeted, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is a brilliant end to a brilliant trilogy. It’s very funny, emotional and everybody gets their stand-out moment. Will Poulter’s Warlock is a terrific addition, yet the focus is rightly on telling a satisfying end for the Guardians.”
MTV journalist Tyrell Charles called Vol 3 ‘epic’ and tweeted out, “It is EMOTIONAL AND EPIC! The action, the soundtrack, the comedy, the tear jerking moments! They’ve hit it out of the park with this beautiful end to James Gunn’s trilogy! It’s also solidified Rocket Raccoon as one of the best characters in the MCU.”
Meanwhile, Irish media publication JOE.ie shared a post which read, “Can confirm that I shed a tear during #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3. And that I would very happily watch an Adam Warlock solo movie.”
The quirky Rocket Raccoon, voiced by Bradley Cooper, seems to be one of the favourites this time around as Alexander Kardelo from Movie Zine wrote in his first reaction, “Lovable weirdos, big Marvel action and goofy jokes. But nothing can prepare you for all the emotions. Rocket Raccoon’s origin story is beautiful and heart-wrenching.”
James Gunn has bid adieu to Marvel Studios with this final chapter in the Guardians world, and is currently the co-chair of newly revamped DC Films along with Peter Safran. Gunn had also directed the first two installments of Guardians of the Galaxy, which were box office successes.
