While many across the USA eagerly anticipate the unfolding drama of the Super Bowl LVIII on game day, cinema enthusiasts worldwide wait with bated breath for the release of trailers for highly anticipated films. This year did not disappoint, as trailers for some of the most awaited movies were released on Monday. From Deadpool 3, now officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine, to the long-awaited Wicked adaptation, audiences were treated to a glimpse of what’s to come. Take a look:

Deadpool & Wolverine

The sassy, foul-mouthed Deadpool is making his return, this time dubbing himself ‘Marvel Jesus’ and not holding back on jabs at Disney. Following Ryan Reynolds’ teaser pictures with Hugh Jackman from the set of Deadpool & Wolverine, fans were eagerly anticipating Jackman’s return as Wolverine, a character he supposedly bid farewell to with 2017’s Logan. However, the teaser might leave some disappointed, as Wolverine only makes a fleeting appearance in the two-minute, twenty-five-second clip. The film is set to hit theatres on July 26.

Wicked

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have joined forces to breathe life into the Broadway musical sensation. The first look clip offers a mesmerizing peek into Jon M. Chu’s vision of Oz, with Cynthia embodying the fierce Elphaba and Ariana portraying the radiant Glinda the Good Witch. Audiences are treated to a glimpse of Erivo’s rendition of ‘Defying Gravity,’ a song that has captivated fans for years. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the star-studded cast also features Michelle Yeoh as the formidable Madame Morrible, and Jonathan Bailey as the charming Fiyero.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

The highly anticipated trailer for the fourth installment of the blockbuster franchise, Planet of the Apes, has finally been released. The trailer hints at a plot continuation from the events of the previous film, portraying the apes as the dominant species while humans struggle as the subservient underclass. As the ape leader seeks to expand his rule, a young ape dares to defy his will. Directed by Wes Ball, the film is set to hit theaters on May 10.

What ensues is a hilarious heist adventure as Gru, accompanied by his young son, embarks on a series of mishaps and laughter-inducing escapades.
