“Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch finds the latest trend of selfies “tragic”.     The father of one asked the selfie-takers to ‘do something more worthwhile’ during an interview, reported Digital Spy.

“What a tragic waste of engagement. Do something more worthwhile. Stare out the window and think about life,” Cumberbatch said.

Though he is not be a fan of selfies, Cumberbatch, 38, seems to be an admirer of good old-fashioned photobomb, which he showed off with spectacular skill at this year’s Golden Globes, and last year’s Oscars.

Cumberbatch and theatre director wife Sophie Hunter welcomed their first child together last month.
