There’s no denying the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe found itself in an interesting mess after the end of the Infinity Saga in 2019. The Multiverse Saga started with a lot of promise but has had more misses than hits along the way, but now, Marvel has done what fans had been hoping for, they are bringing (almost) everyone back from the original movies. Fans were thrilled to find out that Robert Downey Jr would be playing Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, and now, the new teaser trailer of the film shows that not just him, even Chris Evans, the original Captain America is back!

The teaser trailer of Avengers: Doomsday is attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash, and as per reports the first teaser trailer shows Captain America as a father to a newborn baby. The teaser opens on a farm with Steve riding a bike as he reaches his home here. The Avengers theme, with piano, plays in the background. He has a blue helmet on, which is a reminder of his Captain America costume. Once he gets off his bike, and takes off his helmet, he is seen holding a newborn baby. The teaser ends with the text – ‘Steve Rogers will return for Avengers: Doomsday.’

The film will reportedly have four teasers in the next few weeks, with the last one introducing RDJ as Doctor Doom. The film is scheduled to release exactly one year from the release of the first teaser, on December 18, 2026.

MCU fans bid adieu to Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame after he assembled the Avengers together, and saved the world from Thanos. He passed on his Vibranium shield to Falcon aka Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, thus making him the next Captain America. Steve was then seen with Peggy Carter, the love of his life, and it was implied that they went on to have a happy life with each other in another timeline (or the original one).

It is yet to be known which version, or which timeline, we are seeing here. Steve’s baby also opens the field to a ton of questions as we don’t know if this is a baby with superpowers, or if it is even Steve’s baby.

Apart from Chris Evans, other actors returning for Avengers: Doomsday are Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, among others. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, Channing Tatum and Rebecca Romijn, from the X-Men universe, will cross over to the MCU.
