Zac Efron mobbed by fans

Hundreds of children and teenagers descended on Bondi Beach to see Zac.

Hundreds of children and teenagers descended on Australia’s famous Bondi Beach to see their idol Zac Efron taking part in a charity surfing event.

But crowds hoping to see the ‘High School Musical’ star show off his surfing skills were left disappointed as he simply waded into the water for a photo opportunity,Daily Mail online reported.

Having previously spoken of his love for surfing, there’s no doubt the 22-year-old star can hold his own on a board.

But the thought of hundreds of people watching in action left the actor feeling a bit of stage fright it seems.

Efron and his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens were flown Down Under by Oakley sunglasses to raise awareness for their OneSight Foundation’s Learn-To-Surf programme.

While Hugdens kept a low-profile in the nearby North Bondi Italian restaurant,Efron was driven on to the beach in a golf buggy.

Dressed in a red Oakley wetsuit,Efron was overwhelmed by the crowds of screaming girls clambering for a photo or autograph with him. Efron also helped some of the teenagers onto the surf boards.
