Raja Chaudhary gets bail after beating up Shweta Tiwari

Chaudhary had been arrested for beating up his ex-wife Shweta Tiwari,who recently won Bigg Boss season 4.

Television actor Raja Chaudhary has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his former wife and the ‘Big Boss’ winner Shweta Tiwari,police said on Thursday.

Chaudhary,on the run after beating up his ex-wife,was picked up from Lokhandwala area yesterday afternoon,police said adding that he was produced before a local court on Thursday which granted him bail.

According to police,Chaudhary barged into Shweta’s house in Shiv Shakti society in suburban Malad on Tuesday around 1 am,and assaulted her and her friend Abhinav Kohli.

Tiwari,the first woman to win in the reality show Big Boss,lodged a complaint on the same day,police said. “Chaudhary was booked for assaulting his wife and her friend,trespassing into the house,and abusing,” said R D Prabhu,Senior Inspector at Malad police station.

On Tuesday,after Shweta lodged the complaint,he could not be traced,the officer said adding that “we picked him up from Lokhandwala area yesterday”.

Chaudhary was today produced before a local court which first remanded him to judicial custody. “Later,he applied for bail. He was granted cash-bail of Rs 20,000 by the court,” Prabhu said.
