No evidence against ‘Slumdog’ kids father: Cops

Indian police have found no evidence supporting claims that child star Rubina Ali’s father tried to sell her.

Indian police have found no evidence supporting claims that ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ child star Rubina Ali’s father tried to sell her.

Cops had initiated an investigation after Rubina’s biological mother Khurshida filed a complaint against Rafiq Qureshi,insisting that his husband is desperate to cash-in on the nine-year-old’s fame.

However,police said they found nothing to back claims that Rafiq planned on putting his daughter up for adoption.

“We have interrogated Rubina’s father at length and have not found any evidence against him indicating that he was trying to sell Rubina,” ‘Usmagazine.com’ quoted senior police officer Nishar Tamboli as saying.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Rafiq has denied putting daughter up for adoption for 2,00,000 pounds and said he’d been lured to an upscale Mumbai hotel by somebody claiming they were moved by his daughter”s story,and wanted to help get her out of the slums.
