Madras High Court stays ‘Aarakashan’ release
The film,produced and directed by Jha,stars Amitabh Bachchan,Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.
The Madras High Court put on hold the release of Prakash Jha’s ‘Aarakashan’ till an amount of Rs 3.71 crore borrowed by the producer is returned to the financiers.
The film,produced and directed by Jha,stars Amitabh Bachchan,Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone and is due for release all over the country on August 12.
Judge V Periyakarupiah issued the interim order.
The film is already embroiled in controversy with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes dubbing it as anti-dalit. Some political parties have also expressed their reservation over the subject of the movie.
A petition filed by two lawyers against the film is already pending in Bombay High Court.
