Johnny Depp’s ‘Rango’ to get Hollywood Animation Award

The movie,directed by Gore Verbinski,will be honored at the at the 15th annual Hollywood Film Festival.

Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp’s quirky movie ‘Rango’ is all set to receive the 2011 Hollywood Animation Award.

The movie,directed by Gore Verbinski,will be honored at the at the 15th annual Hollywood Film Festival’s gala ceremony on October 24 in Beverly Hills,Femalefirst reported.

Depp,48,voiced the titular lizard character in the film,which also featured Isla Fisher,Abigail Breslin,Alfred Molina,Bill Nighy,Harry Dean Stanton,Ray Winstone and Timothy Olyphant.

“It is a great pleasure to recognize Rango as the recipient of our animation award. This piece of cinematic treasure borders on surrealism and Rango will be a classic for generations to come,” said Carlos de Abreu,the founder and director of the Hollywood Film Festival.
