Hollywood actress Katie Holmes is tipped to play the role of a feisty businesswoman in the upcoming 'Sex and the City' sequel. Film bosses are currently putting together a follow-up to the hit 2008 picture, which was based on the longrunning US TV show,Sun online reported. Shooting is expected to get underway later this year and Holmes is said to be in negotiations to join the cast as a rival to Kim Cattrall's maneating character Samantha. "The character they want her to play is a really ballsy,high-powered company executive who tangles with Samantha," a source told the publication. The first movie, which released in 2008,is an adaptation of the Candace Bushnell's book of the same name. The book was earlier made into the cult series starring Sarah Jessica Parker,Kim Catrall,Kristian Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Studio bosses are hoping the sequel will emulate the huge success of the original movie, which earned USD 401 million at the worldwide box office. The movie, which revolves around the lives of four friends in New York,is slated for a May 2010 release.
