Main accused held from Delhi in Rs 10-crore job racket fraud
The victim had paid Rs 4 lakh to the accused for a government job. The accused allegedly posed as a deputy secretary with the Staff Selection Commission (SSC)
According to police, one of the FIRs was registered by one Santosh Kharpude, a resident of Navi Mumbai who was looking for a job for his niece (Representative image) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai police arrested a wanted accused, Nilesh Rathod from Delhi on Friday for allegedly duping over 50 job aspirants to the tune of Rs 10.5 crore. Police said the victims were from various districts of Maharashtra and one of the FIRs registered against Rathod at Sahar police station in Mumbai last month was transferred to the EOW.
Rathod was produced in a Delhi court before he was brought to Mumbai in four days’ transit remand, said a police officer. Rathod is a native of Barshi taluka in Solapur district.

Rathod allegedly promised the job aspirants in various departments and took money in installments, said police officer.
