Zayed Khan reveals how they almost didn’t shoot the song ‘Dus Bahane’: ‘I was coming off a 12-hour shift and…’
While Dus the movie might have failed to strike a chord with the viewers, its songs are still remembered fondly till date. The film also featured Esha Deol, Pankaj Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty in pivotal roles.

Music composers Vishal and Shekhar have given many hits in their careers, one of the more memorable ones (at least for millenials) is the peppy dance track from the 2005 release Dus, called “Dus Bahane.” Not too long ago, Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor matched steps to its revamped version for their film Baaghi 3.
The track, sung by Shaan and the beloved late singer KK, featured Abhishek Bachchan and Zayed Khan swaying to its groovy beats. Zayed has now revealed that the number was shot within a short period of ten hours.
While speaking with Bollywood Hungama, the actor was asked about the song and dance culture of Hindi movies, and how it has slowly been on the decline since the last few years. The actor said that the lip syncing and dancing has been in Bollywood’s DNA since decades now, and if it is done well and given all the attention and care as much as the rest of the film, both the audience and makers will have a chartbuster on their hands which will last for a long time.
Citing the example of his own song “Dus Bahane”, the actor said, “I will give you an example of the Dus song. I was doing two shifts, I was doing Shaadi No 1 at the same time. I had a number of releases around the same time, it was stressful but you were young so…I remember it was a double shift. I finished a 12 hour shift and at first we were not gonna shoot Dus the song, it was more like ‘shoot hua toh hua nahi toh aise hi release kar denge picture’ (if we manage to shoot it, fine, if not, we will release Dus as is). It was like that. We shot the entire song in ten hours, AB (Abhishek Bachchan) and I. The song became a rage. It goes on to tell you to never lose hope in the fact that something can’t be done. Even if you have the smallest bit of energy and something is on the line, go for it.”
While Dus the movie might have failed to strike a correct chord with the viewers, its songs are still remembered fondly till date. The film also featured Esha Deol, Pankaj Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty in pivotal roles.
